Population Matters: Trends and Transitions
Population growth and decline throughout the state of Colorado has varied over the last decade. There are demographic and economic shifts taking place impacting growth in the U.S. and in Colorado. It is important to understand what is driving population growth and where it is likely to occur in order to successfully plan for the future. The State Demography Office creates population estimates and forecasts and associated components by age, race, ethnicity, and county through the year 2050. These can be used to develop scenarios and plan for resources particularly as it relates to housing across the state.
